001: Suede by Retail Therapy
Before we get to this week’s listener digest, a reminder that we launched our new Retail Therapy scented candle, 001: Suede, this past week and we still have some available. We absolutely love the scent that consider to be reminiscent of a hotel lounge, but decide for yourself.
Why don’t we get cozy, shall we? While I had no real intent of making this “The Cozy Episode,” it simply felt right as I went through topics for this week’s episode. And it felt great.
Will we ever embrace high-end sleepwear ever again?
Here at Retail Therapy, we pride ourselves in trying to make things overly-bougie. Whether it’s a cocktail or a pair of slippers, we always ask this question even though we can’t afford the answer: “How can I spend more money on this?”
And this week, we ended up going through it all — pajamas, robes, slippers, the works. While we didn’t get to the long nightcap that Ebenezer Scrooge wore in A Muppet Christmas Carole, we did talk about the idea of high-end sleepwear and whether or not our generation will ever embrace it.
And yes, this entire discussion was inspired by the slipper-esque collaborations that follow:
But as for all the other products and articles we discussed, look no further:

And if you have any slipper recommendations that aren’t $325 like Kith x Birkenstock, you know how to comment.
Let’s hear it for Stratford Gerald.
We never stray away from celebrating kings of style (see: Jacob Elordi), and this week’s subject was someone who takes English Countryside Clothing and spits on them (in a good way, I think). Of course, I’m talking about everyone’s favorite large-vegetable-farmer, Stratford Gerald.
The answer is “yes” — his tie-dye/camo fit will own real estate in my head for months to come.
Aesthetic of the Week: Country Mouse-core? Idk.
It’s been a while since we’ve done an aesthetic breakdown and my feed has been so full of cozy field mice lately that I couldn’t help but come up with my own.
I mean, call me crazy, but is anyone else seeing all this in between a bunch of Snoopy posts (like this Snoopy Evian bottle)? Well, I’m currently dubbing it country-mouse-core until someone comes up with something better. It looks like this:
I mean, like I said, I really don’t know here so you’ll just have to trust me and/or listen for yourself.
Articles of Interest
Lately, we’ve had a lot of things we want to talk about on the show but haven’t been able to dedicate a ton of time to. In our new “articles of interest” section that may or may not make its way into episodes, we explore them in a bite-sized fashion. This week’s articles:

Of course, we closed things out with our wishlists and imminent cops.
For 2023, we’ve hit the reset button on our wishlists and made them a bit more digestible for the year ahead. To access the complete version of our 2022 wishlists, look no further than our final Listener Digest of 2022. New items in bold.
