Sunday Watch: Mid-Summer Storm at Blackberry Mountain
from Sunday Scaries on YouTube
I had just returned from a sound bath around 5:30 before our dinner that night. I knew rain was somewhat expected but what I didn’t anticipate was the size of the drops or the force of the thunder that we’d get for the next half hour or so. I immediately had to set something up to record it.
What you won’t see in this video is the final front that blew through — it made my tripod wobble, my camera got droplets on the lens, and I had to sprint through the sideways rain to retrieve it all. Moments after it all came to a close, I looked while sitting inside and noticed something over my shoulder. As it turned out, it was one of the black bears on the property looking at me with her two cubs. A front row seat to the great outdoors, it was an hour of a family vacation that I’ll always remember.

Things I Saved This Week
My Sunday To-Do List
After being away Monday through Thursday this week, my main intention today is to lean in hard to a classic lazy Sunday.
My plants were largely neglected while I was gone, so it’s time to put in some rehab work on them.
There will probably be laundry to be done from my suitcase that sits packed on my bedroom floor. And then probably more laundry.
If anyone has any fiction recommendations for me, I’d love to pop into a bookstore and pick something up as I finished The Remains of the Day on Wednesday.
Honestly, I just really to hydrate.
And here’s a reminder to get outside today that I posted last Sunday:
May your Sunday distract you from anything that’s been on your mind lately,
— Will

Couple of books you might like but they are not fiction. A Waiter in Paris by Ed Chisholm and London Falling, the latest Patrick Radden Keefe
This week's haiku made me snort! LOL Very relatable. I sent it to my brothers and their wives.
For book recommendations, if you're into epic journeys try something by Brom. Since Greek mythology is "in" right now, start with "Lost Gods". That is tied for first place as my favorite book by him next to "Slewfoot". Amazing author who is also a gifted illustrator & hard copies include his images of the characters. Audiobooks are bomb, too!
