The Sunday Digest 173
"California, preaching on the burning shore."
Welcome to The Sunday Digest — a free Sunday newsletter featuring long (and some short) reads, original columns, things I’ve saved over the last week, relaxing playlists, episodes releases, exclusive product drops, and more. Yes, you can reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you.
Sunday Read: Postcards: Rosewood Miramar Beach
via Sunday Scaries
Yes, this is a slight change. No, I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet. Okay, I’ll explain.
Previously, all Postcards posts have lived on this Substack. After getting the itch to use the Sunday Scaries website more and more, I thought I’d try doing this edition there instead. What I found was that the photos are much more enjoyable to look at, I have so much more freedom with the layout, and—simply put—I just like how the end product looks more than what I’ve seen on Substack.
This week’s ‘read’ is more of a means for mindless perusal and escapism. After taking four rolls of film over our four-night stay, it was incredibly refreshing to go through all the photos upon returning home and relive the relaxing week.
From candids around the property to my own personal recommendations, I hope you enjoy the new format that I’ll likely be using moving forward.
The Sunday Haiku
Spring forward, fall back,
I still don’t know how it works,
rather be asleep.

Things I Saved This Week
Update: Room 208
I launched a version of this video in last week’s Sunday Digest. After receiving some tips on sound and editing, I decided to create a new (read: more finished) version of it. Now that the audio flows from clip to clip, I have to say: it does feel far more immersive.
I’m looking for the best martinis in New York City.
Earlier this week, I was going through old photos and noticed I had a curious amount of martini photos when I searched “New York City.” Naturally, I began wondering which was my favorite — the Gibson at Monkey Bar sticks out, but I’ll never be able to shake the one I had in the bar at The Bowery.
This week for the newsletter (and probably Instagram too), I’m collecting reader submissions for their favorite martinis in the city. I’d love to hear from you.
My Sunday To-Do List
Dallas > Austin, 8 a.m. Not exactly the ideal situation but we will get by.
It’s likely to be a rainy day, so lounging is imminent.
Since it’s our first spring rainy day, a record may be in order — I’ve been letting my younger son pick which.
Unless there’s already a dinner plan in place, I may be making a move to have some Tex-Mex since enchiladas sound delightful today.
No more Industry or Traitors, so I’m not sure what’s in store for my night.
I hope your Sunday is everything you desire it to be and more,
— Will
