Welcome to The Sunday Digest — a free Sunday newsletter featuring long (and some short) reads, original columns, things I’ve saved over the last week, relaxing playlists, episodes releases, exclusive product drops, and more. Yes, you can reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you.
Resources To Help Those Affected By The Texas Hill Country Floods
Waking up on Friday to the news of the Hill Country flooding was difficult. As the day went on, fears became confirmed and news only seemed to get worse and worse. As of five hours ago, Texas Public Radio has reported 68 fatalities with searches still ongoing.
Below is a list of articles with numerous ways to help:
Hill Country flooding: Here’s how to give and receive help (The Texas Tribune)
How Austinites Can Donate to Those Affected by the Central Texas Floods (Austin Monthly)
How you can help those impacted by catastrophic flooding (Central Texas Local News)
LIST: Here's how to help people affected by flooding in Central Texas (WFAA / Dallas Local News)
How to Help Kerrville Flood Victims: Donation Resources (WBAP)
I posted a story to the Sunday Scaries Instagram yesterday apologizing for this week’s Sunday Digest arriving later than usual. Waking up, it felt somewhat trivial to send out an email that didn’t include links to help those affected. Thank you for understanding the tardiness on my end.
New Episode › Retail Therapy 117: Listener Questions
This week on Retail Therapy, we field a ton of listener questions that include (but are not limited to) wardrobe upgrades, purchasing vs. renting a tuxedo, mountain chic weddings, dream vacations, Retail Therapy-coded summer nights, female trends to look out for, designer bags, flip-flops, Phish’s style, Speedos, new dad kits, and so much more.
There’s no video this week as our producer was out of town for the holiday, so we’ll compile all links to things we talked about and send them out through the Retail Therapy newsletter.
