Welcome to The Sunday Digest — a free Sunday newsletter featuring long (and some short) reads, original columns, things I’ve saved over the last week, relaxing playlists, episodes releases, exclusive product drops, and more. Yes, you can reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you. Or, if podcasts are more your speed on Sundays, we’ve got that too.
We’re now offering paid subscriptions.
Before we dive into this week’s Sunday Digest, I wanted to announce here that I’ve now made this Substack paid after offering it for free since January of 2022.
If you’ve been a long-time subscriber, not that much will change for you. The Sunday Digest and Sunday Confessions will remain free. so no worries there. So what can you expect from going paid?
Additional columns — Both non-fiction and fiction. Whether it’s how someone spends their Sundays, essential products for your Sunday night Panic Room, or more Small Bites, these additional posts will be available only to paid subscribers.
More Postcards — these may remain free so becoming a paid subscriber essentially helps me just cover the cost of film (lol). If any Postcards entries are paid, it’s because I’ll be offering a “trip companion” with my favorite spots or things to do.
First access to any and all merchandise — When we release new items (which is something that has been going on behind the scenes for the last couple months), paid subscribers will be the first to be able to shop them. It only seems fair to offer new products to the most loyal followers, and this is the best way I’ve found to do it.
To anyone who pledged before I went paid, I can’t thank you enough for your support. I started my story with Sunday Scaries as a written format and it’s always been something I’ve loved putting my effort into.

Sunday Read › Pamela Anderson’s Renaissance Started in Her Home Garden
by Juliet Izon for Architectural Digest
Over the last few years, I’ve attempted to lean into more hobbies. In 2022, I saw myself attempting to go to as many concerts as I could to get out more. In 2023, I started my record collection (that I’ve now decided I’ve maxed out on unless something incredible comes across my desk). In 2024 (and now going into 2025), I’ve truly enjoyed something I never thought I would: gardening.
My dad has always maintained an impeccable garden throughout summers in Northern Michigan. Never having much of an interest myself until recently, his gardens have always been present in my life whether I realized it or not. Now when he visits, we get to bond and enjoy the craft together.
In that spirit, here’s an excerpt from a recent Architectural Digest interview with Pamela Anderson about her garden:
Where else do you get your garden knowledge and inspiration from?
I love Monty Don, his videos, and books. I think he writes so beautifully and poetically when it comes to gardens. And I love the secret gardens, and musical gardens in Marie Antoinette’s [château] at Versailles. My kids really love Japanese gardening. They’ve been all over the world with their dad visiting the best bonsai places. All of us in our family share the same love, but different styles. I’m a romantic gardener. I don’t like straight lines. If you see any straight lines in my garden, it’s because somebody else probably planted it.
What style is your garden?
I think “Provençal” is how I love to think of it. It’s wildflowers and herbs and vegetables mixed in. I’m combining the rules of gardening and then more of my whimsical nature.

My Sunday To-Do List
Unpack my suitcase.
Organize my house because I didn’t do so before leaving town on Thursday.
Acquire a fresh, cold sandwich from somewhere close by.
Water the garden after three days away.
Catch up on Love Island (USA or UK, I don’t care) after getting in bed.
Have yourself a Sunday,
