Welcome to The Sunday Digest — a free Sunday newsletter featuring long (and some short) reads, original columns, things I’ve saved over the last week, relaxing playlists, episodes releases, exclusive product drops, and more. Yes, you can reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you. Or, if podcasts are more your speed on Sundays, we’ve got that too.
Sunday Read: There’s Something About A Bode Boy
by Brock Colyar for New York Magazine
When I stepped into the store, you could just tell. It was my first visit to Bode in New York City and it was near the top of the shortlist of stores I had simply had to hit before leaving town that week.
While I’ve been familiar with the brand for a few years now, I had never really taken the dive. The fascinating design, the limited nature, the prohibitive price — it was all a bit intimidating to me.
But sometimes when you walk into a retail store filled with things you’ve only seen online, you simply know it will end with a tap of a credit card. And it did.
This week’s Sunday Read features Bode, a brand that seemingly everyone has been coveting these days. And with our friend-of-the-podcast Jian featured too, well, it was never not going to be this week’s Sunday Read. Here’s a brief excerpt:
How big can something that depends on dead-stock fabric, old buttons, and dessert motifs get? Back in 2019, she told the Times, “When we learned about branding in college, the rule was success has nothing to do with the way you explain the brand to consumers. It has everything to do with how people explain it to each other.” But what if that changes?

Follow › Sunday Scaries on Threads
While I’m not sure Threads will even be a thing in a month’s time, I have to admit that I’m very much enjoying the shift from Twitter. Truth be told, Twitter has been wearing on me for a while now. I’ve had streaks where I’ve over-scrolled and used the app too often, and I’ve had stretches where I’ve abandoned the app completely for weeks.
While bopping from one billionaire’s social network to another’s doesn’t exactly feel ~warm and fuzzy~, the vibes over on Threads have been a nice change of pace. Join me.
New Episode › Career Changes, Style Changes, Coffee Orders, and More Listener Questions
This month's listener questions include my rotation of coffee shop orders, the current state of my panic room, a brand I've considered "underrated" lately, ways for a 25-year-old to upgrade their style, whether or not I still think of storylines for Things Girls Do After Graduation, my current Sunday reading list, summer scented candles, the process that goes into putting out an episode of Sunday Scaries, and making a career change that pays less.
And because there were so many links in this week’s episode, here are the products I touched on:
Anthony Bourdain’s World Travel — Link
Beautiful World, Where Are You — Link
People We Meet on Vacation — Link
The Guest List — Link
Panic Room Scented Candle — Link
Cire Trudon Abd el Kader — Link
