Welcome to The Sunday Digest — a free Sunday newsletter featuring long (and some short) reads, original columns, things I’ve saved over the last week, relaxing playlists, episodes releases, exclusive product drops, and more. Yes, you can reply to this email. I’d love to hear from you. Or, if podcasts are more your speed on Sundays, we’ve got that too.
Introducing: Retail Therapy with Barrett Dudley
For as long as The Sunday Scaries Podcast has been in existence, I’ve been attempting to figure out a way to structure some additional episodes in a more casual manner. In mid-December of last year, I approached regular-guest of the podcast Barrett Dudley (Club Cool) about doing some bi-weekly episodes with me on the Scaries feed. And much to my pleasure, he bought in immediately.
In the past, Barrett has appeared on several episodes to talk everything from style to gift guides to whatever. Not only did his episodes stand out from a numbers perspective, but they also remained as some of the best content put out from Sunday Scaries every year. Frankly, it was a natural fit from before we even put this idea together.
While most episodes of Retail Therapy will drop mid-week, we thought we’d premiere it on a Sunday. Talking about everything from Nannacore (see below) to Bushwick cigarettes to some items on our wishlists, the debut episode was born.
This week’s wishlist items included:
Barrett — New Balance 991s in Grey
This episode (and every episode hereafter) will exist on the Sunday Scaries feed. We hope you enjoy.
You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.

Discussed at length during this week’s Retail Therapy, I think it’s safe to say that the olds are having a moment — and I mean that in all the best ways.
A long-time follower of the Instagram account @gramparents, I’ve always considered the older generation to have better style than they receive credit for. But luckily for everyone, they’re now receiving credit where credit was due.
An excerpt from Vogue:
On the fashion front, it’s a simplicity that is reflected in the wider zeitgeist, says fashion psychologist Carolyn Mair. “There is a move to ‘slow down’ fashion, to move away from multiple collections every couple of weeks and even every season and move towards a more sustainable industry that designs on demand,” she says. “The kind of styles preferred by older people are more likely to be lasting or perennial styles because they know what they like, what suits them and why. They are less likely to be led by trends [and] are more confident about their fashion choices.”

Things I Saved This Week
Mirror Selfie of the Week
Have I ever mentioned that I love mirror selfies? I think I even went as far as to name 2018 “The Year of the Mirror Selfie” even though it really wasn’t. Yes, mirror selfies are self-indulgent and vapid but that’s kind of why they’re the best. Just ask Rosie Huntington Whiteley.
I was feeling especially oatmeal-y before recording this week’s Retail Therapy on The Sunday Scaries Podcast so I had to snag a photo before heading to the studio. A few years late on ‘Stocks and socks? Maybe, but I’m a dad now so I don’t need to be up on current trends as much as I used to be.
See you next week.
